Richard I. Woolf
Richard is a knowledgeable litigator with a strong understanding of the law and a knack for strategic, outside-the-box thinking when it comes to analyzing civil lawsuits. Richard practices in state and federal courts in Missouri, Illinois and Tennessee. He has tried numerous cases as both first and second chair and has repeatedly obtained favorable results for his clients. Richard’s practice is concentrated in third party insurance defense and first party insurance litigation, as he regularly handles defense matters of all kinds and sizes, including complex property and casualty/liability cases, and first party matters, including insurance coverage analysis.
Richard has a straightforward approach when it comes to handling cases and working with clients: 1) communication; 2) team work; and 3) aggressiveness. These three core philosophies ensure that his clients are informed and regularly updated, that he is maximizing the skills and experience of those involved in any case he handles, and that he controls the litigation process and pace, where possible. This approach has consistently allowed Richard to successfully handle cases for his clients in an efficient manner.
For five years in a row, Richard has been recognized for his hard and successful work on behalf of his clients being named as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters company, an honor given to only 2.5% of all practicing attorneys in Missouri and Kansas who have been practicing for less than 10 years or who are under the age of 40. Richard is also a national presenter on insurance litigation matters, including on various casualty and property topics, insurance coverage issues and efficient claims handling practices.
When not in the office, Richard enjoys working out, playing and watching sports, keeping up with current events, reading and spending time with his wife and two kids. A Tennessee native, Rich is a big fan of the Tennessee Titans and all sports associated with the University of Tennessee.
