ST. LOUIS, MO – February 13, 2008 - On behalf of the Young Lawyers Division of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Patrick Chavez accepted the following awards from the American Bar Association:

First Place Award of Achievement, Service to the Bar 

First Place Award of Achievement, Most Outstanding Single Project, Service to the Bar

As Chair of BAMSL’s YLD, Mr. Chavez accepted the awards while serving as a delegate to the ABA’s YLD Assembly at its Annual Meeting in San Francisco.  BAMSL’s YLD received these honors due to its innovative Trial Institute, which provides young lawyers the opportunity to first chair a mock trial in front of an actual judge, seasoned attorney-evaluators and a jury of law students.  Mr. Chavez co-chaired the Trial Institute Committee that developed and implemented the program.

Mr. Chavez is a senior associate at Williams Venker & Sanders LLC.  He practices exclusively in civil litigation, primarily defending catastrophic personal injury lawsuits alleging medical and nursing home malpractice and product liability.
