ST. LOUIS, MO - June 2, 2009 - On June 1st, Matthew J. Devoti became president of The Lawyers Association of St. Louis.  Devoti is a partner at Casey & Devoti, P.C.  Devoti was elevated to president based on the association's bylaws which state the year after serving as president-elect, that person becomes president of the association on June 1st of the following year.

Other officers elected for the 2009-2010 program year are: Thomas P. Germeroth, Kolker & Germeroth, LLC, president-elect; Lori A. Schmidt, Hinshaw & Culbertson, LLP, 1st vice president; Thomas E. Schwartz, Holloran, White & Schwartz, PC, 2nd vice president; Matthew C. Casey, Casey & Devoti, PC, secretary; and John R. Gunn, The Gunn Law Firm, treasurer.

Executive Committee members elected to 3-year terms are: Tracy L. Zuckett, Moser & Marsalek, PC and Thomas K. Neill, Gray, Ritter & Graham PC.

Allison E. Stoll, Rabbitt, Pitzer & Snodgrass, PC has been appointed to a 2-year term on the Executive Committee to fill a vacancy on the executive committee.  John F. Mahon, Jr., Williams Venker & Sanders LLC, was appointed to fill a one-year term on the executive committee to fill a vacancy created by Gunn when he was elected to treasurer.

William S. Thomas, Rabbitt, Pitzer & Snodgrass, PC became immediate past president on June 1 as he completed his term as president.

The Lawyers Association of St. Louis was founded in 1934 in response to a need for a nonpolitical association of trial lawyers and judges for the purpose of promoting and improving the legal profession and judicial system.  The membership includes attorneys from both sides of the Bar and all members of the local, federal and state judiciaries.
