The firm’s health care practice includes both litigation and non-litigation matters. One of this practice group’s strengths is the defense of health care providers including physicians, nurses, and other providers. We also defend health care facilities, including some of the largest hospitals, clinics, and other satellite health care locations in Missouri and Illinois. In this climate of an increasingly skeptical patient base, preparing these cases for trial requires specialty knowledge and skill. Consequently, we keep the cases among a focused group of partners and experienced associates, with the assistance of paralegals as appropriate. Additionally, we utilize nurse paralegals exclusively on medical issues in these cases to better assist our trial lawyers in mastering, not only the medicine involved, but also the overall context of the care at issue. Members of this practice group have also been involved in defending employment discrimination cases brought by employees of our health care clients, including cases brought by health care providers. We also represent health care providers before licensing boards.
